**Job Title:** Operational Training Specialist

About Our Business:

For over five decades, our company has been a trusted name in engineering and manufacturing – recognized globally for quality, reliability, and innovation.

We started as an engineering firm in Hong Kong designing digital clocks and have evolved into a dynamic, diversified group with multiple business units spanning advanced technologies, manufacturing solutions, and proprietary brands.

Today, we are at a pivotal moment. While our roots remain strong, our future lies in innovation, digital transformation, and integral leadership across multiple sectors.

We are now embarking on a bold corporate rebranding and digital transformation initiative to realign our identity with our evolved business model and future ambitions.

We are seeking an Operational Training Specialist.

The Opportunity:

This role plays a key part in building a skilled, safe, and high-performing workforce within our electronics manufacturing operations. The incumbent is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for direct labor, technicians, and production support staff.

The training programs must be aligned with operational requirements, quality standards, and global learning frameworks.

Working closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, HR, and EHS, the Operational Training Specialist ensures that new employees are effectively onboarded, existing employees maintain required certifications, and skill development initiatives directly impact productivity, quality, and safety performance at the plant level.

Main Responsibilities:

- Develop and deliver training programs for operators, technicians, and production support roles in alignment with manufacturing processes, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Deliver onboarding and job-specific training sessions covering production procedures, ESD handling, IPC standards, quality checkpoints, 5S, and workplace safety (STPS/NOM compliance).
- Partner with engineering and production leaders to develop standard work instructions, training materials, and job qualification matrices for each workstation or product line.
- Ensure training content reflects updates in processes, equipment, or customer requirements (e.g., new product introduction, process change, or line transfer).
- Conduct practical evaluations and skill assessments to certify operator readiness before production release.

Training Administration & Compliance:

- Maintain accurate and auditable training records in compliance with corporate, customer, and ISO/industry standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, OSHA).
- Track certification renewals, re-training schedules, and compliance with statutory and safety training (e.g., NOM-009, NOM-017, NOM-035).
- Prepare and maintain training matrices for all production departments, aligned with skills inventory and operational needs.
- Support internal and external audits by providing training documentation and evidence of employee qualification.
- Collaborate with EHS to implement safety induction programs and verify adherence to safe work practices during training.

Continuous Improvement & Learning Culture:

- Conduct training needs analysis (TNA) in collaboration with department managers and supervisors to identify skill gaps and prioritize training plans.
- Monitor training effectiveness using KPI metrics such as learning curve time, defect reduction, productivity improvement, and retention impact.
- Implement 'Train-the-Trainer' programs to strengthen internal capability among line leaders, mentors, and subject-matter experts.
- Develop creative learning solutions (videos, digital content, micro-learning) to enhance engagement and knowledge retention.
- Participate in continuous improvement and Lean/Kaizen projects to align skill development with plant performance goals.

Employee Engagement & Communication:

- Support the rollout of employee development and upskilling programs aimed at improving retention and internal mobility.
- Serve as a bridge between HR, Operations, and Quality to ensure all employees have equal access to training opportunities.
- Promote a learning culture on the shop floor that values safety, precision, and quality craftsmanship.
- Lead communication efforts to highlight training achievements, certifications, and employee development milestones.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Education, Human Resources, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in training or learning roles within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the electronics or automotive industry.
- Proven track record designing and delivering technical and operational training programs for direct labor and technicians.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly operations, and quality standards (IPC, ESD, ISO, IATF).
- Knowledge of Mexican labor, safety and training regulations (LFT, STPS, NOM-series).
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills; able to engage diverse audiences on the plant floor.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is an advantage.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.

What We Offer:

- The opportunity to shape and strengthen workforce capability in a global electronics manufacturing environment.
- Competitive compensation package and benefits.
- Career development and training opportunities in a company committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- A collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture that values learning and employee growth.
- A multicultural environment focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and people development.
- Direct impact on productivity, quality, and safety performance across plant operations.
