As a tactical purchasing specialist, you will:
* purchase components and maintain up-to-date delivery information based on system messages and supplier feedback.
* develop excellent supplier relationships that prioritize emerson in terms of cost and delivery.
* contribute to organizational purchasing initiatives by collaborating with other departments to support market needs.
* establish contingency strategies for core products to ensure on-time delivery and quality.
* participate in implementing lean principles within the purchasing department.
* manage inventory stability through purchasing aligned with the plan for every part (pfep) replenishment strategy.
* promptly settle accounts payable incidents through 3-way matching.
* collaborate with the quality team to resolve non-conforming product issues swiftly.
* handle other daily purchasing-related tasks as assigned.
who you are:
you build relationships through formal and informal channels, support others, and provide timely, helpful information across the organization. You establish and maintain effective customer relationships, ask questions, listen attentively, and negotiate skillfully in challenging situations.
required education, experience & skills:
* minimum 5–8 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment.
* knowledge of production planning, inventory management, scheduling, and lean principles as they relate to purchasing.
* strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* proficiency with erp systems (preferably sap).
* advanced excel skills; experience with tableau or power bi.
* availability and documentation to travel.
additional qualifications:
* bachelor’s degree in supply chain or a related field.
* international procurement experience.
* progressive import/export knowledge.
* experience with purchasing from foundries is a plus.
