The operations project leader will be the on-site leader responsible for the implementation and production ramp-up of the fleets product line at the ametek nuevo laredo factory. The role will transition to overseeing all telular production at nuevo laredo, including additional product lines over an 18-month period.
key job responsibilities
1. develop and execute the project plan for implementing the production work cell for assembly and test of the fleets product line.
2. use lean tools to design the line layout, balancing work content and meeting takt time requirements.
3. ramp up the assembly line to achieve production targets, monitored through hour-by-hour output tracking.
4. ensure safety and quality are integrated into the line design to meet safety and quality standards.
5. hire and develop an operations team capable of managing additional production lines transitioned over 18 months.
6. implement material practices such as assembly line supermarkets and just-in-time deliveries from suppliers in mexico.
7. lead the project execution and production ramp-up for additional lines transitioned to the facility.
8. manage daily operations of telular production at nuevo laredo using sqdip kpis and countermeasures.
job qualifications required
1. minimum of 5 years in manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in supervisory roles, preferably with assembly lines using single-piece flow.
2. proven project management experience in a manufacturing setting.
3. expertise in lean manufacturing tools, with the ability to teach and coach teams in lean principles.
4. experience in recruiting, hiring, and developing operations teams and fostering a lean culture.
5. bilingual in spanish and english.
6. excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
7. four-year bs degree in engineering or business.

1. project management certification.
2. experience in materials management, including kanban and vendor-managed inventory.
3. lean manufacturing certification.
