- the operations project leader will be the on-site leader with initial responsibility for the implementation and production ramp-up of the fleets product line for ametek telular at the ametek nuevo laredo factory.
the position will then transition to be the operations leader for telular production at nuevo laredo, including fleets products as well as additional product lines that will be transitioned to nuevo laredo over an 18-month period.
- key job responsibilities- develop and execute the project plan for implementation of the production work cell for assembly and test of the fleets product line- utilize lean tools to develop the line layout to balance work content and meet required takt time- ramp the assembly line to meet production targets as measured by hour-by-hour trackers of output versus target- build safety and quality into the line design to meet safety and quality targets- hire and develop an operations team that can grow to have responsibility for additional production lines transitioned to the site over an 18-month period- implement material practices including assembly line supermarkets and just-in-time deliveries from mexico suppliers- lead the project execution and production ramp of additional production lines transitioned to the nuevo laredo facility- lead the daily management of telular production operations at the nuevo laredo facility via sqdip kpi's and countermeasures
- job qualifications required- 5+ years of manufacturing operations experience, preferably with assembly lines performing single piece flow to meet required takt time; minimum of 3 years of manufacturing supervision experience- demonstrated project management expertise in a manufacturing environment demonstrated ability to recruit, hire, and develop an operations team; be a coach to teach the team lean tools and develop a lean culture- bilingual in spanish and english- excellent verbal and written communication skills- 4-year bs degree in engineering or business
