Job: Cloud Infrastructure Architect
Location: Mexico (100% Remote)
Type: Long Term Contract
Working Hours: 8 AM – 5 PM EST
Need candidates who are currently in Mexico.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture Design & Strategy
Design end-to-end cloud infrastructure architectures on Azure and AWS that align with business objectives, performance, cost, and security requirements.
Develop reference architectures, landing zones, and multi-account/multi-region strategies.
Ensure designs incorporate Well-Architected Framework principles (AWS) and Cloud Adoption Framework (Azure).
High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HA/DR)
Assess standalone/monolithic applications and design HA/DR patterns (e.g., multi-AZ, multi-region, pilot light, warm standby, active-active).
Implement automated failover, backup, and recovery strategies using native cloud services (e.g., Azure Site Recovery, AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery, RDS multi-AZ, etc.).
Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Collaboration
Engage with application teams, vendors, and product owners to gather functional and non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, compliance, latency, etc.).
Translate requirements into actionable infrastructure designs and deployment runbooks.
Architecture Documentation
Produce high-quality, version-controlled architecture artifacts including:
High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents
Network topology diagrams (VPC peering, Transit Gateway, Virtual Network peering)
Data flow and security control diagrams
Cost estimates and TCO analysis
Maintain architecture decision records (ADRs) and runbooks.
Deployment Oversight & Collaboration
Partner with Infrastructure Implementation and Cloud Operations teams to ensure designed solutions are deployed accurately and efficiently.
Define Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) standards using Terraform, AWS CDK, or Bicep.
Conduct design reviews, resolve blockers, and validate post-deployment stability.
Governance, Security & Cost Optimization
Enforce tagging, naming conventions, and policy-as-code (e.g., Azure Policy, AWS Organizations SCPs).
Embed security best practices (Zero Trust, least privilege, encryption in transit/rest).
Perform regular cost and performance optimization reviews.
