The accounting manager position is accountable for preparation of financial statements at the legal entity level, supervision of the monthly closing process, and statutory compliance at local & consolidated accounting levels. The role interacts with industrial controlling, and other functional areas to ensure an accurate balance sheet and that reporting & consolidation packages are completed by stated deadlines.
key tasks and responsibilities:
* ensure financial reporting in accordance with local gaap (or ifrs) and company policies.
* organize and manage the monthly closing process at the legal entity level
* organize and manage balance sheet review process
* calculate and book key journal entries (provision, accruals, etc.) as well as review/validate je
* postings of ssc support teams
* maintain key reconciliations linked to financial consolidation process as well as review/validate
* bs reconciliations of ssc support teams
* direct responsibility for upload of monthly reporting and quarterly consolidated financial data in
* accordance with ifrs
* accountable for interactions with external auditors, including delivery of audit request by stated
* deadlines and review of key accounting topics
* maintain existing internal control processes and support implementation of new internal controls
* for related financial processes
* manage relationships with key contacts (industrial controller, shared service center, and other
* functional areas) to ensure an accurate balance sheet
* directly responsible for the monthly site closing
* perform operational reconciliations (inventory, production, maintenance, etc.)
* prepare site p&l to support local management understanding of site profitability
* review monthly plant cost report with site managers
* maintain & develop analytics to support profitability assessment (kpi, etc.)
* calculate and update standard cost
* prepare annual budget and periodic forecast as requested
* support car continuous improvement initiatives as directed
* support projects as directed (transformation, m&a, systems, etc.)
* provide financial data and ad hoc analysis as requested
skills and attributes requirements:
* deep knowledge of accounting principles (gaap, ifrs), practices, standards, laws and regulations, tax computations
* understanding of industrial processes and cost accounting principles
* strong communication, collaboration, and ability to work cross functionally
* strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and ability to manage deadlines
* attention to detail and strong analytical skills
* comfort working in a dynamic environment
* proficient in english, good written and oral communication skill
* proficient in financial software such as microsoft dynamics, sap, google suite package, etc.
education/experience requirements:
* b.s., accounting, finance or related field with a masters or cpa preferred
* 5+ years experience in finance, accounting or related field with experience in manufacturing or
* distribution operations preferred
* experience with multinational consolidation activities
