New Fortress Energy is hiring a FLNG Gas Scheduler - Mexico Operations to join our Operations team, based in our Mexico City office.
What you will do:
Schedules and coordinates the supply of natural gas to NFE assets from suppliers
Serve as the primary operational liaison between NFE, CFE, and TC Energy, ensuring accurate and timely communication regarding nominations, volumes, imbalances, and maintenance schedules.
Support commercial operations by analyzing buyback opportunities, optimizing gas flow to minimize costs and penalties, and aligning operational strategies with commercial agreements.
Contribute to the preparation and review of gas supply budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to ensure financial control and accountability.
Manages gas nominations, volume confirmation, track imbalances and other activities related to natural gas pipelines
Ensure compliance with all contractual, regulatory, and operational requirements under CFE, TC Energy, and NFE agreements, including reporting and documentation obligations.
Oversee and Support volumetric controls and ensure consistency between scheduled, delivered, and received volumes; identify and resolve discrepancies to maintain system balance and contractual compliance.
Develop, implement, and oversee our Gas Supply management systems, processes and procedures
Monitor and effectively communicate critical pipeline maintenance & Operations
Interface with the commercial team on the arrival of LNG Carriers
Coordinate feed gas volume nominations with offshore operations team and Houston
Generate accurate annual, quarterly, monthly & daily nomination within gas supplier and contractual deadlines
Monitors and tracks LNG inventory and daily natural gas pricing for operations and commercial teams
Work with operations and commercial teams to ensure any imbalances are minimized
Daily review of operational balancing agreement information
Maintain data showing the contractual movements of natural gas.
Ensures all gas purchases have a delivery point and that all gas sales have a supply point.
Support the accounting team to resolve any rate and volume discrepancies.
Review transportation and gathering invoices to evaluate compliance
Prepare production and inventory data to facilitate supply chain planning
Communicate with the relevant parties should there be any changes in gas demand vs gas supply
Build and maintain strong working relationships with pipeline operators and gas suppliers
Participate in and coordinate periodic meetings with pipeline operators and gas suppliers
Must be physically able to navigate stairs, ladders, narrow doorways, transfer from marine vessels onto offshore facilities and back, etc.
What you bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field of study.
10 years of natural gas scheduling experience, ideally with LNG experience.
Strong commercial understanding of the natural gas industry.
Ability to conduct work in an efficient and timely manner.
Strong computer skills, including MS Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Ability to work autonomously.
Experience working with Mexican gas market structures, CENAGAS, or related regulatory frameworks
Ability to influence, negotiate and advise.
Ability to work well with diverse and multidisciplinary teams, including commercial, operations and accounting teams.
Experience with operation of natural gas management systems is preferable.
Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
