Pricing Analyst, COG
Chubb Overseas General (COG) is the International (non‑US) general insurance operating division of Chubb. This division comprises two major businesses: retail broker distribution in five regions of the world – Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, Far East, and Eurasia & Africa – and general markets distribution through brokers in the London wholesale market and Lloyd’s.
This role is based in Mexico and is part of the overall COG P&C; Actuarial Pricing team. The team supports portfolio management and pricing across all International operations and has a high commercial focus, embedding work closely with underwriting teams and senior stakeholders.
Job Description
The COG P&C; pricing team consists of actuaries and actuarial students dedicated to specific lines of business—Casualty, Property, Financial Lines, Marine & DCI (Digital Commercial Insurance)—as well as a senior P&C; Pricing Actuary. This role reports to that senior actuary.
It is expected that the candidate will work closely with offshore analysts in Mexico and India, as well as the COG pricing team in the UK and planning team in the USA. Travel to the UK would be expected yearly.
Responsibilities
- Support the monthly KPI report: building enhancements, streamlining data, implementing process controls, analysing results and collaborating with actuaries in various regions and countries.
- Assist COG actuaries and business leaders in tracking specific exposures and performing analysis on portfolio composition as requested.
- Conduct ad‑hoc analyses including business plans, scenario modelling, individual case pricing and cross‑regional trend analyses.
- Support key pricing projects such as recalibration of raters and analyses to grow SME and lower middle market segments.
- Play a heavy role in building and testing data assets and participate in data initiatives.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics or a related analytical discipline.
- Fluent in English.
- 1‑2 years of experience in General Insurance (entry‑level candidates are encouraged to apply).
- Strong Excel skills, including VBA experience.
- Experience mining and analysing large datasets and basic knowledge of SQL or Python; experience with QlikView or Power BI is a benefit.
- Ability to work with and communicate with a wide range of internal stakeholders across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Clear and effective communication of technical positions.
