as a planner, your decisions directly influence production.
you may halt machines, adjust priorities, and authorize actions such as stopping production lines, approving overtime, or purchasing raw materials up to $150,000.
you can also author sudden planning changes to meet customer demands, and, based on production capacity studies, recommend additional resources.
responsibilities
sign manufacturing orders and convert them into production orders using sap to request components for production.
sign purchase orders or stos for replenishment lead time periods and confirm delivery dates with suppliers to secure component availability.
balance work center loads by releasing production orders, prioritizing based on capacity to achieve metrics (molex promise date/mpd and customer request date/crd).
track client orders via open order reports (zvrr*) to analyze and resolve any issues preventing timely product shipment.
run mrp for components and expedite to suppliers when necessary to avoid late final product lines to customers (z9mm68, zmrr*, /n/gib/dco).
maintain constant communication with customer service through cics for expedites, emails, and calls, updating the cic report for client expediting responses.
track confirmed final product using zvrr* to ensure paperwork (delivery note) is generated and shipment occurs.
keep the supplier expediting report updated via weekly conferences coordinated by the planning supervisor, assigning priorities and scaling urgencies.
coordinate part number transfers with the program manager and part transfer team to prevent excess finished product and obsolete components.
monitor for cogi's or negative entries (system errors), run reports to avoid inventory discrepancies, and follow up with the materialist.
pursue the pbm philosophy and comply with quality management standards, safety & hygiene, environmental management systems, six sigma, rba, and ctpat/oea policies and procedures.
perform related duties as required.
qualifications
completed professional degree.
at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
advanced english proficiency.
proficiency with sap.
preferred qualifications
industrial engineering background.
apics certification.
