role purpose
under the leadership of the director – human resources, the hr manager, in partnership with plant leadership, will be responsible for the talent & culture strategy for the reynosa operations facility. This role will develop, direct, plan, and execute people initiatives, as well as lead an on-site hr team to enable the organization to meet its business objectives.
key responsibilities
1. develop strong relationships with associates and union leadership by engaging on the manufacturing floor, collaborating with managers and supervisors, and implementing effective communication strategies.
2. drive positive employee relations to foster an optimal work environment, utilizing assessment tools like employee surveys to identify issues and develop action plans.
3. manage the daily operations and development of the onsite human resources team.
4. enhance organizational capability through talent management processes including talent acquisition, assessment, performance management, and employee development.
5. support plant operations through workforce planning, headcount management, and recruitment efforts.
6. monitor hr metrics, responsible for tracking, reporting, and analyzing data.
7. provide strategic leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the hr team and organization.
8. lead organizational change initiatives, coaching others through change management processes.
9. identify critical positions, develop succession plans, and recommend developmental opportunities for high-potential employees.
10. coordinate hr-related modules within strategic planning to ensure alignment with future initiatives.
11. resolve employee relations issues and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and risk management policies.
skills/requirements
relevant experience and qualifications
* minimum 5 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on business partnership, operational excellence, and culture transformation, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
* experience across core hr functions including labor relations, employee relations, compensation, recruitment, talent management, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness.
* understanding of the mexican manufacturing workforce landscape and labor market.
* experience with cultural transformation initiatives, especially turnaround projects.
* leadership experience with effective team-building skills.
* ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution.
* strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* consultative approach to hr partnership.
* accountability, ownership, and strong execution skills.
* excellent communication skills in both spanish and english.
* data-driven, proficient with hr systems and tools.
* knowledge of lean, six sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
