The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for assisting in various financial and administrative activities of ARCOS LLC. This position must interact with staff, work independently, be adaptable, pro-active, and efficient.
What you'll do:
Manage the company expense reporting process, ensuring proper GL coding and challenging adherence to company travel policies.
Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, accounts payable, accounts receivables).
Ensure classification of vendor billing items in the accounting system is appropriate.
Pay employees by receiving and verifying expense reports; preparing checks.
Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
Process all vendor cash payments from bank statement activity.
Play an active role in the financial close process and preparation of month-end journal entries and reconciliations.
Identify trends or issues that require management attention.
Assist Controller with year-end external audit.
Maintain all records in an organized and safe manner.
Assist with various accounting tasks and special accounting projects as assigned by the Controller.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Proven experience in Accounting and/or Finance; SaaS experience is a plus.
A minimum of three years’ experience working independently in an accounting department. An accounting Degree is a plus.
Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and excellent communication skills are all essential to this position.
Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Detailed working knowledge of accounting rules and software. Work experience in an accounting department is a plus.
Excellent typing skills, strong grammar and spelling abilities.
