Compensation: USD 120K - 130K/year.
Location: Remote: Mexico.

Responsibilities
Kinasait partners with OMC to find a highly experienced senior professional. The Platform Engineer will develop code that bridges software and hardware, ensuring system performance and efficiency. This role is responsible for designing, automating, and maintaining the company’s platform environment. The position will collaborate closely with core team members to build, test, automate, scale, maintain, troubleshoot, and support the company’s high‑scale managed search platform.
Qualifications
- 5+ years building complex distributed systems.
- 5+ years owning and managing infrastructure with a major cloud provider.
- 2+ years leading projects and designing distributed systems and API platforms.
- Strong experience in network configuration, debugging, and modification, including load balancing, traffic routing, TCP/UDP, SSL/TLS, firewalls, and IAM.
- Experience working directly with customers and delivering with urgency.
- Working knowledge of ETL, data warehousing, and batch or stream processing.
- Some experience with automated security scanning tools in high‑load environments.
- Some experience developing applications using the Rust programming language.
Experience you will gain
- Building, modifying, and operating Elasticsearch or OpenSearch clusters.
- Creating packages, modules, closures, and shells with Nix.
- Running production systems on NixOS.
- Using Kafka as a distributed system component for load management.
Physical Demand and Work Environment
- Primary workspace will be remote (home or rented office space).
- Occasional travel (1–4 times per year) to Austin or other North American locations.
- Must be able to sit or stand for up to eight hours a day.
