job objective
the production planning supervisor will lead the production planning team in reviewing material requirements according to the master production schedule, ensuring that materials are available in the required quantity and at the right time for manufacturing. This role supervises strategic inventory levels, guarantees alignment with customer demand, and coordinates with cross-functional areas to prevent production shortages.
main responsibilities
lead, coach, and supervise the production planning team to ensure high performance, accuracy, and achievement of objectives.
review customer demand received through the demand analyst and ensure accurate translation into production plans.
maintain the daily and weekly scheduling control file updated.
analyze and follow up on material shortages and discrepancies with the warehouse.
coordinate and monitor shortages directly with production.
conduct physical reviews and daily scrap reporting.
monitor future customer requirements together with customer service representatives.
ensure proper follow-up on production line parts to avoid stoppages or shortages.
maintain adequate levels of strategic raw material inventories.
implement and supervise continuous improvement practices in production planning.
coordinate internal audits related to production planning and ensure compliance with automotive standards.
education and experience
bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or related field.
minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning, materials, or supply chain positions.
proven experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
previous experience supervising or leading teams.
required competencies
strong leadership and team management skills.
solid knowledge of inventory and warehouse control.
intermediate to advanced proficiency in ms excel (mandatory).
familiarity with kanban and/or just-in-time systems.
experience with erp/mrp systems.
effective communication and teamwork skills.
strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities under pressure.
conversational english (mandatory).
sense of urgency and results-oriented mindset.
job conditions
salary: $55,000 – $60,000 mxn monthly (gross).
schedule: monday to friday, 8:00 am – 5:30 pm, with availability to attend early morning calls when required.
mobility: required between apodaca and guadalupe plants.
