The Service Engagement Consultant intern will play a critical role in supporting Ellucian Field Service representatives as they position and sell professional services to the existing or new customer base. You will leverage your software implementation experience as well as your knowledge of cloud implementations to inspire customer confidence in the value of our professional services.
You will assist in the link between commitments made during the sales cycle and the delivery of services. You will assist prospective customers in designing best practice strategies that address specific customer business needs that are practical, cost effective, and provide added value. This team member will be responsible for collaborating with product teams and service delivery leadership to identify opportunities to create service bundles and offerings that facilitate booking growth, product confidence, and continuous improvement around delivery. This role may also assist in RFI/RFP responses in support of the Strategic Solutions Architect team.
Where you will make an impact
- Act as a thought leader to cultivate, build, and maintain relationships across Service, Product, and Sales teams
- Build trust in our products by becoming an advisor to sales and the customer base
- Act as a functional/technical asset specialist throughout the sales process
- Leverage your product knowledge, experience, and expertise to identify, create, and deliver service packages that meet customer needs
- Manage requests, collaborate with multiple resources, and drive unified outreach to field reps
- Qualify requests to minimize the use of billable consultants on a scope call
- Support sales operations and pipeline team with scope status, management, and tracking in a timely manner.
- Collaborate and ideate around service improvement with consultant subject matter experts, the Customer Success Management team, and the Actionline Support team as appropriate.
What you will bring
- Experience implementing Ellucian products (banner, colleague)
- Minimum 1 year of Enterprise software implementation and/or scoping experience in on premise, managed cloud and SaaS environments
- Exceptional relationship building and consultative skillset
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with current experience in presenting services options and SOWs to clients
- Ability to apply strategic thinking and demonstrate an understanding of requirements to execute and make decisions guided by policies, procedures and product knowledge with limited guidance
- This position requires enthusiasm and energy; willingness to learn and adapt quickly; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and previous experience conducting training sessions.
- Customer service approach and attitude around support, learning and enablement
- Able to manage multiple priorities, filter sales team requests, manage your time and execute under tight timelines.
- Take active role in identifying, communicating, and advancing internal process improvement suggestions/initiatives.
- Must have the ability to explain solutions to diverse customers, and ensure they are able to use the proposed services to accomplish their business needs.
